Terms of Service

The ground rules.

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the EdgeLingo mobile application (the "App"), provided by EdgeLingo ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own personal, non-commercial language learning. You may not copy, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App, or attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract its bundled models except to the extent permitted by applicable law or the relevant open-source licenses.

3. The App is a learning aid

EdgeLingo uses on-device AI to help you practice a language. AI-generated conversations, corrections, translations, and explanations may be inaccurate or incomplete. The App is a study aid, not professional, certified, or authoritative language instruction, and should not be relied upon for high-stakes decisions. Please use your own judgment.

4. Your content

Content you create in the App (conversations, custom scenarios, saved phrases, photos you attach) is stored only on your device. You are responsible for that content and for any photos you choose to use. Because we do not receive your content, we do not moderate, back up, or have access to it.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App to create unlawful, harmful, or abusive content, to infringe others' rights, or in any way that violates applicable law. You are responsible for your own use of the App's AI features.

6. Model downloads & availability

The App downloads AI model files over the internet on first use. We aim to keep these available but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the download servers. Once downloaded, the App's core features work offline.

7. Intellectual property

The App, its name, and its design are owned by us. The App incorporates open-source AI models — including Google's Gemma, and the Kokoro and WhisperKit models — which remain the property of their respective authors and are used under their open-source licenses (Apache 2.0 and MIT). Attributions are provided in the App.

8. No warranty

The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the App.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new date.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (R.O.C.), without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where mandatory local consumer-protection law of your place of residence applies.

1. 同意

本利用規約（以下「本規約」）は、EdgeLingo（以下「当社」）が提供するモバイルアプリケーション EdgeLingo（以下「本アプリ」）の利用に適用されます。本アプリをダウンロードまたは利用することで、あなたは本規約に同意したものとみなされます。同意されない場合は、本アプリをご利用にならないでください。

2. ライセンス

当社は、あなた個人の非営利な語学学習のために本アプリを利用する、個人的・非独占的・譲渡不可・撤回可能なライセンスを付与します。あなたは、適用される法令または該当するオープンソースライセンスで認められる範囲を除き、本アプリの複製・再販売・サブライセンス・商業的利用を行うこと、または本アプリやそれに同梱されたモデルをリバースエンジニアリング・逆コンパイル・抽出しようと試みることはできません。

3. 本アプリは学習補助です

EdgeLingo はオンデバイスAIを用いて、あなたの言語練習を手助けします。AIが生成する会話・添削・翻訳・解説は、不正確または不完全な場合があります。本アプリは学習の補助であり、専門的・公認・権威的な語学指導ではなく、重大な判断の根拠として頼るべきものではありません。ご自身の判断でご利用ください。

4. あなたのコンテンツ

本アプリであなたが作成したコンテンツ（会話・カスタムシナリオ・保存したフレーズ・添付した写真）は、あなたの端末の中だけに保存されます。そのコンテンツと、利用を選んだ写真については、あなたが責任を負います。当社はあなたのコンテンツを受け取らないため、それをモデレーション・バックアップすることも、アクセスすることもできません。

5. 許容される利用

あなたは、本アプリを用いて違法・有害・悪質なコンテンツを作成すること、他者の権利を侵害すること、または適用される法令に違反するいかなる方法でも利用しないことに同意します。本アプリのAI機能の利用については、あなた自身が責任を負います。

6. モデルのダウンロードと提供

本アプリは、初回利用時にインターネット経由でAIモデルファイルをダウンロードします。当社はこれらを提供し続けるよう努めますが、ダウンロードサーバーが中断なく利用できることを保証するものではありません。ダウンロードが完了すれば、本アプリの主要機能はオフラインで動作します。

7. 知的財産

本アプリ、その名称、およびデザインは当社に帰属します。本アプリは、オープンソースのAIモデル（Google の Gemma、ならびに Kokoro と WhisperKit のモデルを含む）を組み込んでいます。これらはそれぞれの作者に帰属し続け、各自のオープンソースライセンス（Apache 2.0 および MIT）のもとで使用されています。クレジット表記は本アプリ内に記載しています。

8. 無保証

本アプリは「現状のまま」および「提供可能な範囲で」提供され、法律で認められる最大限の範囲において、特定目的への適合性・正確性・非侵害性を含め、明示・黙示を問わずいかなる保証も行いません。

9. 責任の制限

法律で認められる最大限の範囲において、当社は、本アプリの利用または利用できないことから生じる間接的・付随的・特別・結果的・懲罰的損害、その他いかなる損失についても、責任を負いません。

10. 変更

当社は、本規約を随時更新することがあります。変更が有効になった後も本アプリの利用を継続した場合、改訂された規約に同意したものとみなされます。重要な変更は、新しい日付とともにここに掲載します。

11. 準拠法

本規約は、抵触法の原則にかかわらず、台湾（中華民国）の法律に準拠します。ただし、あなたの居住地における強行的な消費者保護法が適用される場合を除きます。

本服務條款(以下稱「本條款」)規範你對 EdgeLingo 行動應用程式(以下稱「本 App」)的使用,本 App 由 EdgeLingo(以下稱「我們」)提供。下載或使用本 App,即表示你同意本條款。若你不同意,請勿使用本 App。

2. 授權

我們授予你一項個人、非專屬、不可轉讓且可撤銷的授權,供你為自己的個人、非商業語言學習使用本 App。除適用法律或相關開放原始碼授權允許的範圍外,你不得複製、轉售、再授權或以商業方式利用本 App,亦不得嘗試對其進行還原工程、反編譯,或擷取其內建模型。

3. 本 App 是學習輔助工具

EdgeLingo 運用裝置端 AI 協助你練習語言。AI 生成的對話、修正、翻譯與說明可能不準確或不完整。本 App 是學習輔助工具,並非專業、經認證或具權威性的語言教學,不應作為重大決定的依據。請自行斟酌判斷。

4. 你的內容

你在本 App 中建立的內容(對話、自訂情境、儲存的語句、你附加的照片)只儲存在你的裝置上。你須為這些內容,以及你選擇使用的任何照片負責。由於我們不會收到你的內容,因此不會對其進行審查、備份,也無法存取。

5. 可接受的使用方式

你同意不使用本 App 建立違法、有害或濫用性的內容,不侵害他人權利,亦不以任何違反適用法律的方式使用本 App。你須為自己對本 App 之 AI 功能的使用負責。

6. 模型下載與可用性

本 App 於首次使用時會透過網際網路下載 AI 模型檔案。我們會盡力維持這些檔案的可取得性,但不保證下載伺服器不中斷地持續可用。下載完成後,本 App 的核心功能即可離線運作。

7. 智慧財產權

本 App、其名稱及設計均為我們所有。本 App 納入了開放原始碼的 AI 模型 —— 包括 Google 的 Gemma,以及 Kokoro 與 WhisperKit 模型 —— 這些模型仍屬其各自作者所有,並依其開放原始碼授權(Apache 2.0 與 MIT)使用。相關姓名標示已於本 App 中提供。

8. 無擔保聲明

本 App 係以「現狀」及「現有可用」方式提供,在法律允許的最大範圍內,不提供任何明示或默示的擔保,包括特定用途之適用性、準確性或不侵權。

9. 責任限制

在法律允許的最大範圍內,對於因你使用或無法使用本 App 所生之任何間接、附帶、特殊、衍生或懲罰性損害,或任何損失,我們概不負責。

10. 條款變更

我們可能不時更新本條款。變更生效後你若繼續使用本 App,即視為接受修訂後的條款。重大變更將在此處張貼並附上新的日期。

11. 準據法

本條款依中華民國(臺灣)法律解釋與適用,不適用其法律衝突規則;但你居住地之強制性當地消費者保護法另有規定者,從其規定。
